Further, the Acoustic Report prepared in support of the PP, considers aircraft noise and recommends that the site can be made suitable for increased residential density. In 2018, this Council voted to endorse ICAN’s Citiesappeal, a call from councils all over the world for their governments toendorse this Treaty. Regarding 1d, Council officers are satisfied that the current zoning of the site (MU1) is appropriate to allow the proposed mix of commercial / employment uses on the ground floor and residential above. The Panel’s concerns regarding the prematurity of the proposal are noted; however the site is well located and well serviced to provide new housing opportunities. There is strategic merit to the extent that the site is suitable for higher residential density which has the potential to increase housing supply.
