Childcare & Kindergarten Oakleigh South

Childcare & Kindergarten Oakleigh South

In Victoria, children born between January 1 and April 30 can generally start prep school in the year they turn 5. Guardian’s Flying Start to School preschool program is designed to make this transition smooth, giving children the literacy, numeracy and social skills they need to thrive as they begin their school journey. The globally renowned Reggio Emilio Approach we use embraces a childcare philosophy of innovation, self-care, creativity, curiosity, open-mindedness and adaptability. The first years of a child’s life are where the foundations of the wonderful person they have the potential to be are created.
Our team of dedicated early learning experts hold each other to a very high standard. One of our parents says we’re a ‘perfect place for kids to get messy and come home with a sandpit in their shoes’. Our Kids Oakleigh South is operated by MYK PTY LTD ATF The MYK Family Trust, which contributes insignificant to the total available child care capacity in Victoria. The Hub is host to a Friday playgroup (2pm - childcare near clarinda 4pm) which is independently run by a community parent group. Inspired by these discussions, Richards wove their stories and experiences together to create a work that celebrates the knowledge and history our environment holds.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school. Your school zone is determined based on your permanent residential address. Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their local school. Each holiday period and the following school term that you book with TeamKids – whether it’s Summer and Term 1, Autumn and Term 2, Winter and Term 3, or Spring and Term 4 – will include a $5 administration fee.
Raising happy, healthy, and resilient children has never been more challenging. At the February, 2015 School Council Meeting, the issue of placing a restriction on Student Enrolments was discussed in great detail. The school had earlier received permission from the Department of Education to grant the Enrolment Restriction, due to  the rapid increase in enrolments. Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria. The process provided a sustainable response, achieved by heavily reducing onsite construction resources and time.
A Compliance & Administration Fee of $ will be applied to your account when you receive a statement for care. It applies only in weeks where you have bookings and receive a statement. The fee will not be charged for those customers receiving the Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS) or those billed via a third-party arrangement. No matter the cancellation rules, we operate a standing policy that there is no charge for a sick child.

This project received $3.7 million through the Building Blocks Partnership between the Victorian Government and the City of Monash. Through this partnership, the Victorian Government has provided up to $16.02 million to the City of Monash. These projects will create up to 521 kindergarten places in the local government area.
Utilising our DfMA experience XLAM ensured that the CLT panels were produced with 100% accuracy. We then applied our logistics expertise to sequence, despatch and deliver the panels to site. Consisting of eight individual age-based educational rooms, a parents’ retreat, reception, office area, as well as a full commercial kitchen and laundry, the centre required approximately 310m3 of XLAM CLT for the walls and roof structure.

The building also includes rooms for Monash's Maternal and Child Health service, and a multipurpose room that will be home to the Oakleigh South Girl Guides and other community groups. We aspire to create an environment that encourages independence, creativity and social connections; an environment where student voice and the needs of our community directly influence our day-to-day pedagogy. Oakleigh Primary School and Kindergarten’s School Council-managed Out of School Hours Care Service (OSHC Service) operates on-site during the school term and is available to all students from Foundation to Year 6. Whether you need a few hours each week to work, run errands, attend appointments, or simply recharge, we’re here to help.
We also offer Homework Club,  where our educators will assist your child with their homework tasks. This is a great support, as they’re free to enjoy the evening at home without the stress of having to complete extra schoolwork.
